Canine Physiotherapy - Who is it for?

Canine physiotherapy is for any dog that has reduced function due to injury, orthopedic or neurological conditions.

As in human physiotherapy, canine physiotherapy can be beneficial in many situations, such as:
  • Post surgical rehabilitation - orthopaedic or neurological
  • Musculoskeletal injuries - joint sprains and muscle strains
  • Conservatively managed orthopaedic conditions (e.g. hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, cruciate ligament disease)
  • Age related or degenerative conditions (e.g. arthritis, age related decline in function due to weakness or proprioceptive deficits, fitness and strength in oncology patients)
  • Neurological conditions (e.g. intervertebral disc disease, fibrocartilaginous embolism, “wobblers” syndrome, peripheral nerve injuries, degenerative myelopathy)
  • General fitness, weight management
  • Performance enhancement
  • Puppy assessments

Please note this list is not exhaustive. If you have any questions about whether physiotherapy may benefit your dog please contact me.
