Frequently Asked Questions
Is treatment at Canine Physio NZ covered by my pet insurance?
It may be. If you have a veterinary referral to Canine Physio NZ then you may be able to claim your treatment under your insurance policy. Please talk to your insurer if you have any queries.
How many times will I have to come?
This depends on a lot of factors including your dog's condition, how long they have had problems and what your goals are from physiotherapy.
This will be discussed with you in your dog's initial assessment. I am happy to tailor your treatment plan to suit your preferences with respect to demands on your time and finances.

Will my dog like it?
How much your dog likes their treatment will depend on your dog. If they are nervous of new people and places and do not like being touched it may take them a few sessions to be able to relax and feel comfortable with physiotherapy. I ensure I am gentle in my approach and watch the dog carefully to identify any signs of pain or distress.
If your dog does have behavioural issues that you feel may affect their participation in their assessment or treatment, please let me know before your initial assessment and we can find the best way to accommodate your dog. This may include providing treatment at your own home (additional costs may apply).
